EquiFriends - meeting our mission
to improve health and quality of life

EquiFriends is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for children and adults with disabilities through equestrian activities. EquiFriends is a nationally accredited human service non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

Our Key Strategies to meet our mission in 2008 include:

Volunteers Administer the volunteer program to provide sufficient volunteers for students, and other activities (mailings, auction, fundraisers).
Board Transition the volunteer board of directors from operational oversight to a stronger fundraising, policy review, and strategic oversight board.
Service Serve persons with disabilities in our community by providing 100 safe student activities per week (student and a horse in a scheduled lesson environment).
Instructors Recruit, train, manage and motivate sufficient NARHA certified instructors to safely manage our rider activities. Additionally, provide quality support staff as specified in the organization chart.
Horses Maintain 10-12 program horses. Keep them mentally and physically sound to do the work we ask them to do.
Facility Maintain our facility and continue making improvements with the ultimate objective of growing the program to serve more clients.
Fundraising Meet these key strategies by increasing the fundraising activity of the program. (Total fundraising goal for 2008: $320,000)
Instruction Evaluate client needs and design student activities to meet individual goals established at the beginning of each ten week session.
