EquiFriends - working together to improve lives
EquiFriends is a non-profit, community based organization providing therapeutic horse activities to children and adults with disabilities. An accredited member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association, EquiFriends is the only center for therapeutic horseback riding and driving for the disabled in Snohomish County. Presently, between 130 - 150 different students with disabilities, residents from Snohomish, King and Skagit Counties, ride or drive at EquiFriends.
EquiFriends Board of Advisors and Board of Directors consist of individuals from the community who care about our program and have graciously volunteered their time, expertise and enthusiasm to help us maintain and grow our program. Approximately 200 volunteers actively assist the disabled riders in their lessons each week. Volunteers also maintain the facility and help produce the program fund raising events. EquiFriends is grateful to be a recipient of financial and in-kind contributions from many donors, grantors and sponsors.
For 2006, we have received grant money from local funders the Nysether Family Foundation and Coastal Community Bank Foundation, as well as the Norcliffe Foundation. Thank you for your support of our riders and our therapeutic riding program!
