The Ride-a-thon is coming!
EquiFriends’ spring fund-raiser, the Slicker ‘n Nicker Ride-a-Thon is scheduled for May 10th from 8am-2 pm. It is held at the rusticly beautiful Pilchuck Tree Farm, where there are trails galore to wander on. Each year there is a different “theme” and the various check-points along the trails dress up and play up the theme. Past themes include “The Triple Crown,” “Mediviel Knights,” and “Cowboys around the World!”
By raising pledges and committing to ride, EquiFriends’ supporters have fun AND help our program carry on its mission to provide therapeutic equestrian activities for the children and adults with disabilities that want to participate.

2008 Auction Planning Underway
Planning is underway for this year’s Mane Event Dinner Auction, the largest fund-raiser of the year for EquiFriends. October is fast approaching, and the planning committee is hard at work to make this evening unforgettable! If you have time to share, items to donate, and sponsorships to provide, please email Carrie or call 425-377-0802 and speak with Carrie or Trisha. We’ll help you direct your volunteering efforts for our auction.
Some of the top items from the evening’s auction included a trip for two to Alaska, several western Washington get-aways, beautiful jewelry, and decadent desserts! Auctioneer Tom Pasma and MC Gerry Andal kept the crowd moving and feeling generous with their special blend of entertainment and expertise. A highlight of the evening was meeting EquiFriends’ student Tyler and his family as they shared their story with the audience. “Hearing from a family about the impact EquiFriends has had on them really brings it alive,” commented one auction-goer.
Make plans now to attend the 2008 Mane Event on October 18, 2008. We’ll see you at the Everett Events Center!
